BP Shipping’s 46,803DWT products tanker, ‘British Chivalry’, has loaded the first consignment of condensate (light crude oil) from the newly-developed Kupe oil and gas field off the South Taranaki coast bound for the Kwinana refinery in Western Australia. The condensate is transported by road tanker from the onshore production facility near Manaia to the Omata tank farm near New Plymouth and then piped direct to tankers at Port Taranaki.Completed in January 2005 at Ulsan, South Korea, the Isle of Man-registered ‘British Chivalry’ was also making its first call to New Plymouth.
